Stockholm’s premium demand rests on one of Europe’s densest technology economies, layered over a leisure season compressed into a few luminous months. SAS carries the nonstops from New York and Newark, United and Delta contest the trunk, and the rest of the US map connects over Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Frankfurt or London within a short hop of Arlanda.
SAS’s move from Star Alliance to SkyTeam reshuffled the contract ladders across Scandinavia, and Stockholm sits squarely in the reshuffle: SkyTeam constructions over Amsterdam and Paris now feed the city alongside SAS metal, while the former Star routings compete from outside. Transitions like this widen the negotiated channel, and that is what we are seeing on the corridor now.
The calendar is stark. June through August — the white nights, the archipelago season, the corporate calendar still running — is the expensive half. From October through March the city is dark, superb and cheap to reach: quotes land at the softest end of the European band, and the winter experience is a genuine reason to travel rather than a compromise.

Should I fly into Stockholm or connect over Copenhagen?
Both work — Copenhagen carries the deeper long-haul schedule and SAS connects the two hourly, so the through-fare is often cheaper than the Stockholm nonstop. Where a direct exists on your dates and gateway, it saves two to three hours door to door.
When is business class to Stockholm cheapest?
October through March, excluding Christmas and the New Year. Scandinavian leisure demand is intensely seasonal, so winter cabins ride on corporate traffic alone and contract space opens up. Midsummer is the year’s peak in both directions.
Does Stockholm work as a gateway to the wider Nordics?
