Dynamic pricing
Reviewed September 2026
The newer model in which airlines price seats continuously by algorithm rather than in fixed fare-bucket ladders. In premium cabins the practical effect is volatility: the same seat re-prices hour to hour with demand signals. Negotiated contracts are partial shelter — contract rates are agreed in advance and move slower than the public price — which is why private quotes feel most valuable exactly when the public price is jumping around.
