Airline alliance

The three global groupings — Star Alliance, oneworld and SkyTeam — that coordinate networks, lounges and frequent-flyer reciprocity. For premium buyers, alliances matter mainly for mileage accrual, lounge access on connections and irregular-operations protection. Deeper commercial integration (joint pricing) happens in joint ventures, which are alliance subsets.
