Bulkhead

The cabin divider wall, and by extension the row directly behind it. Bulkhead rows trade under-seat storage for legroom and no seat ahead — in business class they often carry the largest footwells and bassinet mounts. The considerations are practical: extra space and first meal service, against galley and lavatory proximity on some aircraft and infant bassinets on others. Whether a bulkhead row is the best or worst seat in the cabin is aircraft-specific knowledge we apply when assigning.
