Codeshare

One airline selling a flight operated by another under its own flight number. The ticket says one carrier; the aircraft, crew and cabin belong to the operator — which is what determines your seat and service. Negotiated fares frequently ticket as codeshares within alliances and joint ventures. We always quote by operating carrier and aircraft, because that is what you actually sit in.
