Consolidator fare
Reviewed September 2026
A discounted fare an airline sells in bulk to a licensed wholesaler (the consolidator) under a private contract, on condition that the price is never published in public booking engines. The seat, cabin and flight are identical to a published ticket; only the fare basis and the distribution channel differ. Consolidator contracts are the main reason a specialist can quote business class 30–40% under the airline’s own website — the discount exists, it is simply not allowed to be displayed.
