Wet lease

One airline renting aircraft with crew from another to cover its schedule — you book carrier A and board carrier B’s plane, crew and cabin. Wet leases spike during aircraft shortages and seasonal peaks, and the cabin substituted in is sometimes markedly different from the one marketed. Reputable carriers disclose them in the booking flow, but the notice is easy to miss. We flag wet-leased sectors on quotes because the product you sit in is the product that matters.
