IRROPS (irregular operations)

Industry shorthand for disruption: cancellations, missed connections, equipment swaps. Premium cabins recover better — rebooking priority, protected connections on one ticket, and alliance partners to rebook across — but only if the itinerary was built on one ticket with sane connections. Half of what a good specialist does is invisible until IRROPS happens; the other half is answering the phone when it does.
