Seat pitch

The distance from a point on one seat to the same point on the seat ahead — the traditional legroom metric. In lie-flat business it has been superseded: bed length and footwell width predict comfort far better than pitch once seats stopped being rows of recliners. Where pitch still earns attention is premium economy and the older angle-flat cabins, where a couple of inches remains the honest difference between products. Read it as one number in a system, never the verdict.
