Soft product

Everything about a premium cabin that is not bolted down: catering, service style, bedding, amenity kits, lounges, ground handling. Soft product is where airlines differentiate quickly — a catering upgrade rolls out in months; a new seat takes years — and where consistency varies most, crew to crew and hub to outstation. Buyer’s rule of thumb: choose the route on hard product, break ties on soft product, and weight the reviews from your actual departure airport.
