Through-fare

A single fare covering origin to final destination over a connection, as opposed to two separate fares broken at the hub. Through-fares are how a ticket to a secondary city over a hub can cost less than a ticket to the hub itself — the airline prices the market, not the distance. They also carry the practical protection that matters: one ticket means the airline owns any misconnection, rebooking you at its expense.
