The buying logic favours Zurich by default: more nonstops, more recovery options, and contract inventory that holds later into the booking window. Geneva earns the nod for the Lake Geneva arc, the French Alps and anything on the UN calendar — with the caveat that its thin nonstop schedule makes the one-stop constructions over Zurich or the EU hubs the honest comparison.

And everywhere, the railway finishes the job: no country converts an airport arrival into a final destination better. Basel, Bern, Lucerne, the ski valleys — all are a scenic train ride from either hub, which means the right Swiss quote is often about which airport starts the rail journey best, not which is nominally closer.
